Work Schedule 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.
Flexible work schedule or telework 1 day a week can be approved by supervisor
Primary Purpose of Position Develops relationships with area community colleges to recruit transfer students into the William States Lee College of Engineering.
Minimum Education/Experience Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
University Preferred Qualifications:

Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of administrative or office management experience in the student services or related field; or equivalent.

Essential Job Duties Through recruiting initiatives, develop relationships with traditional, non-traditional, and military transfer students, two-year institutions, and military transition assistance program facilities for the William States Lee College of Engineering. Work includes:

  • Develops, plans, coordinates, and implements transfer recruitment activities and efforts

Develop marketing strategies as well as publications used in the recruitment process.

  • Independently develops and maintains partnerships between two-year institutions, military educational facilities, and other identified organizations and populations throughout the assigned territory. 
  • Maintain a database of recruitment efforts
  • Follow-up through email and text communications with prospective students.
  • Implement and achieve annual recruitment goals for territories.
  • Create and facilitate opportunities for active participation by prospective students with UNC Charlotte, including organizing special transfer events.
  • Initiate and facilitate recruitment events, materials, and pathways for transfer students.
  • Develop working relationships with faculty and staff at UNC Charlotte to connect prospective students with faculty in their area of interest or advisors to confirm transfer credits.
  • Collect, research, and analyze data regarding recruitment to direct efforts.
  • Prepare short- and long-term recruiting strategies to meet college goals and evaluate results.
  • Write reports on progress, goals, and plans.
  • Manipulate data from internal and external software systems to improve recruitment and measure results.
  • Create and administer post-event surveys and evaluate results.
Other Work Responsibilities
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of administrative or office management experience in the student services or related field; or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience with both the community college and university settings.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience giving presentations and directions on a detailed process.
  • Experience facilitating events.
  • Skills using software for contact information, mail merge, and electronic communication.
  • Excel skills to manipulate and analyze data.
  • Experience creating reports.
