What the Position Involves

The Regional Health Care Educator, reporting to the Manager of Clinical Education, is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical education across the East Region.

  • Leads new hire nursing and nursing assistant orientation.
  • Develops and maintains educational plans and ongoing competency assessment systems.
  • Collaborates with managers and educators to identify training needs, develop improvement plans, and support annual mandatory programs.
  • Serves as AHA Training Site Coordinator, managing instructor orientation, class scheduling, equipment, and documentation.
  • Communicates with regional CNOs and leaders regarding initiatives, projects, and education strategy.
  • Acts as regional liaison to HealthStream resources and supports standardization of educational tools across Munson.

What’s Required

Education & Licensure

  • RN license in the State of Michigan, in good standing.
  • Master’s degree in nursing or education required; OR bachelor’s degree in clinical nursing or related field with 4+ years of education or unit leadership experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in education, curriculum development, and adult learning.
  • Experience leading change and influencing outcomes without direct authority.

Certifications

  • Current BLS required; BLS instructor license preferred.
  • Must obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS instructor certification within 1 year.

Other Requirements

  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentorship skills.
  • Must be able to travel 50–75% within northern Michigan. Valid Michigan driver’s license required.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
