The Institute of Physical Chemistry “Ilie Murgulescu” of the Romanian Academy is opening a new full-time position for a Research Assistant, within the project entitled: “Carbon Supported Metal Oxides Produced by Supercritical Water Impregnation Method”, acronym APASUPER, project code: PN-III-P4-ID-PCE-2020-1241 (www.icf.ro/pr_2020/APASUPER.pptx ). The applicant must be enrolled in the PhD school in chemistry, materials science, physics or biology.

Specific Requirements

The selected candidate will participate in the research activities regarding development of carbon supported metal oxides nanocomposite materials with specific properties for separation processes in supercritical water conditions. These materials have applications in various technological fields, such as the treatment of biomass to obtain biofuels or waste water treatment. The research carried out within this project is unique at the national level, and part of it is carried out in collaboration with partners from Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland (https://www.psi.ch/en ).

Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics or Biology,

Selection process

The application file must include:

– List of scientific publications – if any;

– Originals of study documents (baccalaureate diploma, bachelor’s and master degrees accompanied by transcript);

– Criminal record.

 

The selection will consist of: application file analysis (preliminary test) and interview. For the interview, the candidate will give a 10-minute presentation of his / her research activity.
