The Haigh Lab at the Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute, CancerCare Manitoba and the University of Manitoba, Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is seeking a Research Associate with experience in the phenotypic and molecular characterization of B cell, and other hematological phenotypes associated with a 5-year CIHR funded project grant entitled “Role of ZEB2 in B cell Ontogeny and Transformation”. The CIHR is the leading federal funding agency for Biomedical Research in Canada.
The ideal candidate would have hands-on experience in:
1) Phenotypic analysis of hematological and ALL associated models including Flow Cytometry, Q-RT-PCR and methylcellulose assays, lentiviral transduction systems and xenotransplantation models.
2) Bulk/Single Cell RNA and ATACseq library preparation.
3) Working with bulk and single cell bioinformatics analysis including Cell Ranger, SCENIC and other advanced Python/R-based analysis platforms.
4) Development and use of CRISPRi/a-based genome editing technologies.
The salary range for this category is $50,000 – $71,025 per annum (40 hours/week), commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate would have the opportunity to participate in numerous other research projects in helping to finish off manuscripts for publication and in further building a strong publication track record. As well, training and supervision of (under)graduate students is expected. Expert technical assistance in project planning/completion is available in the lab. In addition to competitive salary support and job security for 3 years, position may be extended based upon research outcomes and productivity. Relocation expenses may be reimbursed, in accordance with University Policy and Procedure.
