Positions and Qualifications

Distinguished PIs

1. Recognized academic achievements and contributions;
2. Evidence of international reputation and influence;
3. Ability to lead the development of disciplines or catch up with the international advanced level.

PIs

1. Hold a PhD degree;
2. Primarily engage in research directions in the natural sciences, engineering technology, etc.;
3. Generally should have held a formal teaching or research position at a renowned overseas university, research institution, or corporate R&D institution for a continuous period of 36 months or more; for those who have obtained a doctoral degree overseas and have exceptional achievements, the work experience requirement may be appropriately relaxed (not applicable to those who obtained their overseas doctoral degree through Sino-foreign joint training programs);
4. Have obtained research or technological achievements recognized by peer experts and have the potential to become an academic leader or outstanding talent in the field;

Young Scientists

1. Applicants must be younger than 40 years old as of the application date.
2. Have conducted systematic research in their field with a proven track record of outstanding academic achievements.
3. Possess forward-looking research interests and a well-defined research plan that aligns with SIAT’s strategic development priorities.
4. Demonstrate strong independent research capabilities, along with the ability to organize and lead a research team, exhibiting exceptional academic creativity and significant potential for scientific and technological innovation.

Post-doctoral

1. Hold a Ph.D. diploma and graduation certificate obtained within the last 3 years.
2. Applicants should generally be 35 years of age or below (inclusive), and be Chinese or foreign citizens who can engage in full-time research work at our institute.
3. Possess excellent moral character, academic excellence, and physical and mental health, with demonstrated high academic standards and strong research capabilities.
