Job Details:
This teaching position is located at an alternative education campus at the Texas Neuro Rehabilitation Center in south Austin. Students in the self-contained classroom range from 1st grade to 6th grade. 100% of students are in special education and thus it is crucial for the teacher candidate to have a special education EC-12 certification. This is a year-round (11 months, 194 days) position from August 1st to June 30. A new hire for this position will be required to attend 2 days of paid new employee orientation on July 30, 2024 and July 31, 2024 in Austin, Texas.

Serve as a K-5 elementary school teacher
Valid Texas Core Subjects with Science of Teaching Reading EC-6, and English as a Second Language (ESL) Supplement, and Special Education EC-12 teaching certifications. Knowledge of assigned subject or subjects. Understanding of TEKS and the curriculum standards of the State of Texas. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a non-traditional school setting with special needs students of varying abilities and interests. Maintain awareness and understanding of the role that trauma may play in the lives of our students. Proficiency in technology and technology applications to the level specified by the district. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. This position requires fingerprinting. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
At least one year experience working with students with various special education needs and at least one year experience with special education Individual Education Plans and ARD paperwork
$56,000 + depending on qualifications
Classrooms are located within a residential treatment facility.

Employment Eligibility:

Compliance:
