What you’ll be doing 

As the Senior Director, Enterprise AI Infrastructure, Machine Learning Operations and AI Vendor Management, you’ll be responsible for providing robust AI Infrastructure and ensuring the scalable deployment of models. You’ll focus on overseeing the development and management of AI Infrastructure, manage vendor relationships, and govern AI-related vendors to ensure effective collaboration and alignment with CIBC’s strategic goals. This role will contribute to CIBC’s transformation by leading the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI initiatives that align with the bank’s growth objectives and enhance client experience. You’ll work in close collaboration with technology teams, business units, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery and adoption of AI products and solutions, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the supported business units. This role reports to the Head of Enterprise AI Platforms and Solutions, where you’ll have direct ownership responsibility for end-to-end AI Infrastructure, Machine Learning Operations, and vendor management.

How you’ll succeed 

  • Vendor Selection and Management:  Spearhead the comprehensive evaluation and selection process for a critical LLM mesh vendor provider, ensuring alignment with CIBC’s strategic objectives and technical requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI scientists, IT, procurement, and legal departments, to gather requirements, evaluate vendor capabilities, and ensure the selected LLM mesh vendor provider meets the diverse needs of the organization. Oversee the ongoing performance and relationship management of the LLM mesh vendor provider, ensuring that service levels, performance metrics, and contractual obligations are met. 

  • AI Machine Learning Operations Infrastructure: Develop and execute the AI Machine Learning Operations infrastructure strategy, including architecture and roadmap to support the implementation and operation of AI initiatives across CIBC. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and secure Machine Learning Operations infrastructure to meet the needs of various AI projects and initiatives. Optimize the performance and reliability of AI models in production, implementing best practices for monitoring and maintenance. 

  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation in Machine Learning Operations tooling and technologies, as well as evaluate and select AI infrastructure and Machine Learning Operations tools and technologies, ensuring they meet the organization’s requirements. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI infrastructure and Machine Learning Operations, incorporating relevant innovations into CIBC’s practices. 

  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide leadership and guidance to the AI Infrastructure and Machine Learning Operations teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Collaborate with AI Spokes to ensure their infrastructure needs are met and support their AI initiatives effectively. Partner with AI COE teams to leverage data for product innovation. 

  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in the development and operation of AI infrastructure. Oversee supplier governance strategy for Machine Learning Operations vendors, ensuring high service quality and compliance with contract terms and conditions. 

 

Who you are
