Senior Infrastructure Systems Specialist

Permanent, 37 hours per week

We are looking to appoint a Senior Infrastructure Systems Specialist to join our Core IT Infrastructure Team.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will support the team in the delivery of the University’s digital and cloud first strategy for current and new services.

The Core IT Infrastructure Team currently provide both on premise and cloud infrastructure services including server virtualisation, centralised data storage, centralised identity & authentication (AD / AAD), DNS, Office 365 – Exchange Online/Hybrid, wired and wireless networking, telephony services, web hosting and the support of two on campus data centres while ensuring high levels of service availability and data resiliency.  The team plays an important role in the provision of services to support the needs of all stakeholders including students, researchers, academic and support staff.

Educated to degree level with relevant IT/Computing content or equivalent experience, you will be involved in meeting objectives set in the team, and departmental and University strategies to ensure the delivery of a quality, timely and cost-effective IT service, with focus on Office 365 / AAD and related Infrastructure, services and applications.

You will have knowledge of data networking principles and common internet protocols, together with recent practical experience over several years of development and operational support at an enterprise level within a Windows Server 2016 and newer environment.
