What you’ll be doing
Reporting to Director, Advanced Analytics you will be a senior contributor to the delivery of the Data Analytics’ (DA) strategy, plan and projects within Internal Audit (IA). Senior Manager will work closely with the DA and IA teams to leverage analytics in order to provide assurance to the bank through our support of audit engagements, continuous monitoring and auditing programs, as well as proactive, strategic, and ad-hoc analysis of trending and emerging risks.

How you’ll succeed
Audit analytical support – Lead test development across all Internal Audit portfolios including thorough engagement planning, data acquisition, design, development, testing, threshold development, communications with clients, report development, documentation and implementation
Automation and continuous monitoring – Support the development and execution of the Continuous Analytics strategy and roadmap. Identify opportunities and methods to reduce manual testing performed in audits through adoption of data-driven, automated testing and analytics methods to enable and expand employment of continuous assurance model within Internal Audit.
Visual and text analytics, machine learning & cloud technology – Act as subject matter expert for the ongoing development and execution of centralized, automated analytics, and delivery of reporting dashboards and other visual analytics, leveraging Advanced Analytics methods such as Text Analytics and machine Learning, and available data analytics and reporting tools, such as SAS, SQL, ACL, Cognos, Python and Tableau. It is an asset, if you have Cloud Technology experience and certification.
Problem solving and communication with client – Conduct and support root cause analysis of any identified issues or deficiencies, and articulate observations and conclusions with an understanding of Internal Audit divisional and professional writing and documentation standards. Review data output results, key performance metrics and trends to create suitable and meaningful analysis to identify and resolve problem areas. Demonstrate strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills, verbal and written, for understanding business/auditing requirements and reporting analytical findings to non-technical audience. Generate creative presentations for distribution
Continuous improvement – Support the culture of continuous development and improvement. Proactively design and implement analytics engagements that help IA assess trending and emerging risks. Review industry best practices and norms applicable to Advanced Analytics and identify opportunities to improve the audit process and make recommendation on areas to enhance efficiencies and revise established processes.
Who you are
You have a degree (preferably at the graduate level) in business, computer science, statistics, engineering or other relevant field of study
You can demonstrate solid math or statistics knowledge, good understanding of data querying and preparation and proficiency with one or more analytics coding language, e.g., Python, SAS, R, etc. It’s an asset if you have knowledge of CIBC data sources, applications, system platforms and understanding of CIBC’s risk management processes
