Job Description

Under limited supervision, the Senior Medical Staff Coordinator provides individual, personalized credentialing and re-credentialing assistance and guidance to Practitioners, Senior Leaders, Departments, hiring Stakeholders and Medical and Dental Staff Coordinators. Provides oversight to Medical & Dental Staff Coordinators to ensure timely and accurate credentialing and re-credentialing activities and procedures are completed. Analyzes and audits the credentialing and re-credentialing files to ensure all regulatory, accreditation, payer delegated credentialing standards, and policy (for all entities for which the UAB Medical & Dental Staff Office Department credentials) requirements are met. Completes special projects involving advanced credentialing and privileging knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of experience in credentialing/medical staff office required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement. CPCS or CMSM certification preferred.
