The Senior Officer will contribute, under the supervision of the Executive Director of International Advocacy, to HE activities aiming at facilitating trade diplomacy with key regions, including regulatory and business cooperation, and participating in global governance to promote a hydrogen vision.
Main responsibilities:
- Monitor, assess and report about EU -and key third countries- internal and external policies, programs and initiatives impacting hydroge trade with Europe.
- Contribute to HE positions on EU policies, programs and initiatives impacting trade on hydrogen and hydrogen technologies by providing expertise on EU and global trade policy, in cooperation with the relevant departments of HE.
- Prepare HE messaging and represent HE in relevant institutional and business dialogues, expert groups and fora with EU decision makers and key trading partners.
- Support and reinforce HE cooperation activities with international organisations promoting hydrogen deployment in third countries and trade.
- Support HE messages, coalition building, engagement with HE members, and participation in global climate negotiations (COPs).
- Support the coordination and organisation of HE Global Partners Group meetings, from agenda planning to follow ups.
- Develop working relations with the relevant public and private stakeholders in the EU and partner countries, and international organisations, to carry out the previous activities.
- Preparation of briefings, speeches, statements, press releases, articles, as well as delegations visits, meetings and events related to the above activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the private and/or the public sector with practice of trade and/or external relations.
- Understanding of how the European Union works and of the EU main energy and competitiveness challenges.
- Knowledge or strong interest in gaining expertise in hydrogen.
- University degree in political sciences, international relations, economics, law or similar.
- Excellent analytical, writing and speaking skills – EN language.
- Proactive mindset, ability to work autonomously and in a team.
