Purpose: We are growing our capabilities in designing and formulating peptides, protein degraders and other beyond-rule-of 5 molecules. Our Discovery-facing team supports Discovery programs from Hit-to-Lead through the identification and selection of clinical assets. As core member of cross-functional teams, you will closely collaborate with key partners, including chemistry, biology, pharmacokinetics, and pre-clinical safety.
You will be responsible for:
- influence molecular design by providing experimental and intellectual input on their physical properties and how these properties affect formulation options
- influence the drug delivery selection for our Discovery molecules and lead candidate drugs by identifying patient-centric formulations and novel formulation solutions to overcome challenges
- contribution to the selection of drug candidates by inputting pharmaceutics and developability knowledge
- collaboration with Development partners and provide recommendations on aspects such as solid form selection and formulation strategy for toxicological studies and First-in-Human clinical trials
- hands-on and in silico experimentation and data generation.
We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual with a robust background in peptide, protein degrader or other beyond-rule-of-5 molecule physical properties. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, mental agility and thrive in teams working in a fast-paced environment, and meet the following qualifications.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree (2-6 years’ experience), M.S. degree (4-10 years’ experience) or B.S. degree (>8 years’ demonstrated ability) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Industrial Pharmacy, Biochemical Engineering, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological or Physical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Formulation design or strong knowledge of physical properties of peptides, protein degrader or other beyond rule of 5 molecules.
- Sustained experience in implementing ideas into practical solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct laboratory experiments.
- Detailed understanding of physical and pharmaceutical chemistry principals.
- Independent thinking and the ability to effectively collaborate.
Preferred experience:
- Novel drug delivery, data analytics or pharmacokinetics.
- Design and development of small molecule formulation concepts for preclinical studies via various routes of administration.
- Characterization techniques such as DVS, DSC, TGA, PXRD, UPLC, mass spectrometry etc., and interpretation of solid-state characterization, chemical and physical stability and solubility data.
- Familiarity with pre-formulation activities and physicochemical characterization of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
- Track record of scientific contributions including peer reviewed publications, patents and/or presentations.
