Summary

Join MaineHealth, the premier health system in Northern New England, as the Senior Services Medical Director for a new state of the art facility in Mid Coast Maine. We are recruiting a Geriatric, Family, or Internal Medicine trained physician. This candidate will have a key leadership role of Medical Director of Senior Services for the new Breakwater Commons nursing facility. The facility is supported by Pen Bay Medical Center, a regional medical center with a range of diagnostic services and specialty services available for consultation and the principal site of transfers to the skilled facility.

Practice Details:

• Practice is supported by 1 APP, Medical Assistant, nursing staff, and the full backing of the MaineHealth system. Collaborative relationship with MHMG Geriatrics Department with ongoing CME, clinical support, and development of the new Geriatrics Service line for optimal care of elderly patients.
• The role includes leadership responsibilities and clinical coverage of the new skilled and long-term care nursing facility in Rockland.
• New 96 skilled facility with dedicated staff. It also includes the clinical management and care of approximately 50 assisted living and memory care unit residents at Quarry Hill, a facility in nearby Camden.
• Ideal candidates would have experience caring for patients in the post-acute care setting, be familiar with state and federal requirements, and prior experience leading and managing the care team.
• Call managed by a small group on a weekly basis with minimal demands
