The Department of Design, School of Arts, Media, Performance & Design at York University invites highly qualified candidates to apply for a Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream position in Graphic Design. This is a Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) to the teaching stream for a two-year term to commence July 1, 2025.

The Department of Design https://ampd.yorku.ca/department-of-design/ seeks a candidate who can teach a range of undergraduate courses. Applicants should possess expertise in one or more of the following areas: visual communication design, publication design, information design, data visualization, interaction design, user-interface design, and/or user-experience design. The successful candidate will provide creative educational leadership in teaching and learning through curricular and pedagogical innovation.

CLAs provide distinct expertise and ideas to the School https://ampd.yorku.ca/ through contributions to various committees in the Department and School.

Candidate Qualifications:
Degree: Terminal Master’s Degree (MDes, MFA) in Graphic Design or related field is required. A demonstrated record of professorial experience in design or a related industry is preferred.

• A record or evident promise of excellence in teaching and dedication to students, (e.g., teaching accomplishments and/or pedagogical innovations).
