As Social Media Director, EWC & Special Projects, you will lead the overall social media strategy for Esports World cup and other EFG’s special projects. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of gaming culture by connecting fans with their love for gaming – on live streams, across social media, and in real-life events.

You will lead a talented Social Media team, currently managing Esports World cup and other EFG’s special projects. You will develop integrated social media strategies, editorial calendar, and strategic positioning, with the aim to drive audience growth, fan engagement, ticket sales and viewership, as well as increasing brand awareness and sentiment,

What you will do:

  • Lead a talented Social Media team, currently managing Esports World cup and other EFG’s special projects
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase and drive audience growth, fan engagement, brand awareness, brand sentiment, ticket sales and viewership
  • Develop social media integrated content strategies, editorial calendar, strategic positioning and narrative.
  • Plan, produce, select, position and translate content to all appropriate channels and their respective characteristics and needs.
  • Build the appropriate channels strategy to ensure high acquisition and engagement of the community(-ies) and set the editorial line for community-centric communication
  • Own and monitor KPIs, and establish their use to drive successful content strategies
  • Work with creative team to produce high quality creative and communication assets
  • Communicate updates and reports efficiently for external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with global teams across multiple disciplines and departments including Marketing, Creative, PR, Sales, and others to articulate product and brand vision
  • Brief departments, freelancers, and agencies with their scopes of work
  • Maintain knowledge of cultural landscape, industry trends, audience needs and interests, to provide relevant content for engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a discipline in Marketing, Communications, or similar discipline, or equivalent experience in social media or content agency
  • 8+ years relevant experience in social media or agency work
  • Experience of running Social at important, culturally relevant brands that have a clear POV in social, and where social is a key driver of the overall brand.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a high performance team, and creating an inclusive, rewarding work environment.
  • Inherently understanding of Internet culture and how to build community, and can instantly make us better at doing this in an authentic way. Our unique community requires someone at the bleeding edge.
  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Discord)
  • Outstanding track record of building processes and structures that drive adoption of digital platform, product, premium services.
  • Experience working with other creative teams, content producers, media agencies, product management, content creators, external stakeholders
  • Experience working with younger audiences in a digital space; experience with esports/gaming or entertainment/sports a plus
