If you are a self-starter, action oriented and customer focused Technical Program Manager (TPM), this might be be the role for you. This position will require a broad set of skills that will range from deep-dive analytical problem solving to executive reporting. You will work directly with leadership, service teams, business operations teams, TPMs, and compliance professionals to ensure that Amazon Pharmacy services are compliant with our security and privacy policies.

The right person will demonstrate proven leadership in managing complex compliance or risk programs from start to finish. They will have experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders requiring the ability to effectively manage the project across several teams. A strong bias for action, strategic planning and thinking, and the ability to organize and deliver new initiatives. Have an understanding of how to evaluate control effectiveness; understand potential risks and how to address them; be able to deliver high priority projects; and have the ability to prioritize mitigation efforts using risk management concepts.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drives program, initiative, and corresponding deliverables, provide strategic direction, escalation management, and deliver regular communications to senior leadership and program stakeholders.
  • Applies meticulous organizational skills, exceptional writing skills, high attention to detail, spot-on judgement, and vigorously advocates for the customer.
  • Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions.
  • Owns communications to stakeholders on progress, issues, and risks including regular status updates while identifying opportunities to invent and simplify recurring processes that scale with a growing organization.

A day in the life

This position within the Healthcare Security organization represents a rare opportunity to get in with a fast-growing Amazon Healthcare business. This high visibility role will require Senior Executive communication and influencing while working with stakeholders across multiple organizations. You will be determining program enhancements required to scale the business and security. You will regularly deep dive issues to determine the root cause and partner with stakeholders for resolution, including the right stakeholders as needed. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will manage end-to-end projects, often managing multiple projects at once, while demonstrating high judgement, clear communication, creative approaches, the ability to think big, and a consistent track record of delivering results.

About the team

The Amazon Stores Security team is responsible for protecting Amazon’s information assets. We partner across Amazon’s Stores business units to build and monitor a secure environment for the Amazon business, software and data. We provide security “In the Cloud” and enable scalable mechanisms for software developers and systems to meet Amazon’s security and privacy requirements. We are both a customer and a partner to AWS in raising security awareness, providing scalable tools, and protecting shared infrastructure.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI’s/SLA’s used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
