Special Instructions to Applicants

The Student Teaching Supervisor will supervise student teaching interns in their placement schools and will supervise and access the interns’ work that is submitted into Tevera, the electronic data collection system utilized by Educational Field Experiences. Each semester, up to 21 student teaching interns will be supervised.

Job Summary 

Educational Field Experiences is seeking a part-time, non-tenure track Clinical Instructor to supervise elementary and special education teacher interns.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Supervise student teachers in their school placements.
2. Grade student teachers’ electronic portfolio assignments submitted in Tevera in a timely manner.
3. Present an overview and specific information about student teaching responsibilities to students in professional development seminars.
4. Keep Educational Field Experiences Director informed of student teachers’ progress throughout the semester.
5. Attend University Supervisor and Student Teaching seminars throughout the semester.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications 

A Master’s degree in Elementary or Special Education or at least 18 hours of elementary or special education classes at the graduate level and five years of classroom teaching experience in an elementary or special education classroom. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The selected candidate must have dependable transportation and be willing to travel to school-based internship sites. The successful candidate must also have a reliable computer with access to a high-speed internet connection. Daily travel is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ten years of classroom teaching experience or combined 10 years of teaching and school administration experience.
• Eighteen graduate credit hours in both elementary education and special education coursework.
• Prior experience supervising/teaching undergraduate elementary or special education students.
