About the Opportunity:
Kingdom School of Arts is seeking an exceptional Screen Acting Course Director to lead and deliver an intensive Summer Screen Acting Course for actors aged 16+.
This six-week programme is designed to provide practical, industry-focussed training in screen acting, helping actors develop their understanding and ability to work with a professional director to deliver truthful, engaging screen performances. The successful candidate will collaborate on shaping the course alongside the Head of Acting to tailor it specifically to their unique insight.
We are looking for a practitioner who combines strong directing experience with a passion for actor training.
The Role:
The Screen Acting Course Director will lead all aspects of the Summer Screen Acting Course, delivering practical weekly training through filmed exercises and scripted scene work.
The successful candidate will create a professional and supportive learning environment that develops both performance craft and screen awareness. Sessions should combine actor training with practical filmmaking processes, enabling students to gain experience performing for camera under professional direction.
Course Dates:
The ideal candidate will be available for all course dates. However, applicants who require cover for one or two dates are encouraged to apply and should clearly state any unavailable dates in their application.

Sunday 2 August 2026- 10:00-13:00 & 14:00-17:00
Sunday 9 August 2026- 10:00-13:00 & 14:00-17:00

Sunday 23 August 2026- 10:00-13:00 & 14:00-17:00
Break – Sunday 30 August 2026 (Bank Holiday Weekend)

Contract & Pay:
Freelance contract
Starting at £35 per hour

Essential Requirements:
Significant professional experience as a screen director
Experience teaching or coaching actors
Strong understanding of screen acting techniques and on-camera performance
Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with actors of varying experience levels
Experience directing scripted scenes and working with performers in a training environment
High professional standards: reliable, punctual, organised, and communicative
Commitment to access, inclusion, and excellence in training
Desirable:
Experience delivering screen acting courses or workshops
Professional credits in film, television, or digital content
Experience working with emerging actors
Understanding of casting, audition processes, and industry expectations
