JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Pharmacist Supervisor oversees staff and the daily operations associated with the Pharmacy Department. Ensures the appropriateness of drug therapy as described in the position accountabilities. The Pharmacist Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the medication needs of inpatients and outpatients are accurately met and for maintaining all necessary records. Participates in development of department policies and procedures. The Pharmacist Supervisor will assist the Managers and Director with long range planning and the operational budget. As part of the management team, the Pharmacist Supervisor assists the Managers and Director in fulfilling departmental goals. In the absence of a Manager, a Pharmacist Supervisor may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of a Manager.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science Degree from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required. Doctor of Pharmacy Degree preferred. Completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency or equivalent experience preferred. Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Vermont.

EXPERIENCE:

Five years clinical pharmacist experience in a health system preferred. Previous leadership experience preferred.
