The Supply Chain Program Director, Healthcare is responsible for leading and managing high-priority strategic initiatives that support the organizations’ mission and growth objectives within the healthcare sector, with a specific focus on supply chain optimization, analytics-driven decision-making, and aligning healthcare planning operations to meet industry demands. This role requires understanding of the healthcare industry and generic awareness of supply chain management, specifically planning and analytics. This role involves working closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and senior leadership to ensure initiatives are driven and executed successfully, on time and budget. The Program Director will also play a key role in relationship management, fostering strong partnerships with key customers and other stakeholders to ensure the success and sustainability of initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Lead and manage strategic initiatives, including supply chain optimization and operations improvement, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and healthcare industry standards.
- Develop and communicate clear vision, strategy, and goals for each initiative, incorporating both healthcare-specific needs and supply chain considerations.
- Develop and foster relationships and key strategic partnerships with key players in he industry
- Supply Chain Planning & Analytics:
- Understands supply chain planning and management, and importance of timely and cost-effective delivery of medical supplies, equipment, and services needed to support healthcare operations.
- Recognizes importance in the integration of analytics into healthcare operations and supply chain management to enhance service delivery, reduce waste, and improve patient care.
- Healthcare Industry Expertise:
- Leverage knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, CMS), and clinical workflows to ensure initiatives meet industry standards and improve patient outcomes.
- Stay current on emerging healthcare technologies, supply chain innovations, and industry trends that may impact the healthcare sector.
- Provide leadership to internal teams and stakeholders to guide the implementation of data-driven healthcare initiatives and supply chain solutions.
- Relationship Management:
- Internal Relationships: Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, clinical operations, finance, and IT departments, ensuring alignment on goals, priorities, and resources.
- External Relationships: Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, key suppliers and vendors. Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, ensuring effective collaboration and contract management.
- Engage with healthcare professionals and supply chain partners to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement, incorporating their feedback into initiative strategies.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the development of detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for each initiative, ensuring they meet the complex requirements of the healthcare industry.
- Ensure cross-functional teams collaborate efficiently to meet the goals of these initiatives.
- Track progress and performance metrics to ensure milestones are met, adjusting strategies as needed to address evolving healthcare dynamics.
- Risk Management & Problem-Solving:
- Act as the problem-solver for issues that arise during the execution of the initiative, removing barriers and driving solutions to maintain progress.
- Lead problem-solving efforts to address any supply chain, operational, or performance issues that arise, ensuring initiatives stay on track.
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track and report on initiative performance, with an emphasis on supply chain efficiency, operational performance, and patient outcomes.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership and stakeholders, showcasing insights, KPIs, and actionable recommendations to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead post-initiative evaluations to assess the impact of supply chain and healthcare initiatives, ensuring that lessons learned are captured and applied to future projects.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the initiative teams, encouraging innovation and the implementation of lessons learned to refine processes.
- Use feedback from stakeholders to make adjustments that enhance future initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project or program management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex initiatives and working with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proven track record of relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare preferably in healthcare operations, supply chain management, analytics and technology
- Prior experience in client-facing or partnership-building roles.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, partners, and other external stakeholders.
- Advanced project and program management skills, including experience with leading projects in healthcare
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to guide potential customers in early stages in their engagement
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
- Adaptable and able to navigate complex, dynamic environments.
- High emotional intelligence, capable of managing both internal and external stakeholder expectations.
