Description

The Division of General Surgery, Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking an academically oriented and qualified surgeon to join our faculty. The position is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Yale-New Haven Hospital is a 1541-bed ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients, and the major tertiary referral center for Southern Connecticut. The Trauma Service admits 3,700 patients per year. The General Surgery Service evaluates approximately 3000 patients and performs approximately 1800 surgical procedures annually. We provide Surgical Critical Care services to most major surgical disciplines. Clinical leadership opportunities are available, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have completed fellowship training and be Board Eligible or Board Certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. In addition, candidates should have excellent clinical and interpersonal skills and the commitment to make important contributions to the field of Acute Care Surgery.
