Under the Department of Surgery Clinical Director(s), the Surgery Scheduling Manager will work closely with the Chair, Division Chiefs, Executive Chief Administrative Officer and Administrative Leadership to set strategic goals and execute centralization initiatives and plans for the surgery scheduling office. Other assigned duties include: 1. Work with Clinic Practice Managers and Clinical Director to establish goals for assigned surgery division(s) and implement changes as necessary to achieve goals in line with the Department of Surgery’s strategic plan. 2. Project impending changes and determine appropriate action to implement to assure meeting clinical goals. 3. Coordinate surgery scheduling for assigned surgery division(s) within the Department of Surgery. 4. Ensure compliance with Department of Surgery guidelines and other regulatory agencies that are required. 5. Review, analyze and develop recommendations for changes in documentation, information flow, communications, and/or patient flow to optimize facility surgical operations. 6. Maintain current procedures and maintain a complete procedures manual for all areas of responsibility; implement new administrative procedures with administrative approval. 7. Responsible for ensuring all surgery scheduling processes for assigned faculty are met. Salary Range: $24.28 – $48.04 Hourly

Qualifications

Required: * 5 or more years of experience in an applicable clinical setting * Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify patterns and formulate conclusions * Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities * Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and web-based database programs. * Knowledge of University’s Electronic Medical Record System. * Accounting skills to plan, prepare and analyze complete revenue and expenses budgets * Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally * Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems and proposals in both formal and informal situations. * Ability to creatively integrate competing demands of a multi-specialty setting into a productive working environment * Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health * Working knowledge of University policies and procedures to appropriately manage accounting systems, cashiering, risk management and personnel. * Previous demonstrated expertise in managing patient services in a fast-paced clinical setting. * Skill and experience in TA approach and implementation. Preferred: * Bachelor’s Degree
