Salary: Licensed Teacher Salary Schedule (range $48,000 – $75,163 based on 24/25 salary schedules, education and experience)

Summary of Position: 

In the Teaching and Learning Academy (TLA), educator teams work together with distributed expertise to support a shared roster of students. The teams, typically comprising credentialed teachers, paraeducators, aspiring teachers, specialists, and/or community educators, use formative data and other evidence of student learning to move educators and students fluidly across multiple shared spaces, prioritizing deeper and personalized learning for students. 

Each educator team is supported by a second licensed teacher who will support a shared roster of learners with the educator team and directly interact with students. Additionally, the Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in sharing responsibility for all elements of student support, instructional planning and delivery (e.g., lesson planning, instruction, assessment, data analysis and grading). 

The Teacher supports the educator team in maintaining high expectations for student learning and ensures the educator team functions at a high level to serve all learners by strength and need. The Teacher contributes ideas and innovations to improve student learning. They co-plan, co-teach, model, coach and give feedback to the Instructional Facilitators and Instructional Assistants. Further, they proactively support parent communication, ensuring transparency and fostering relationships between families and the school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assume duties and responsibilities of a licensed elementary educator for the grade level.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in coaching and mentoring the Instructional Facilitator and Instructional Assistants.
  • Collaborate with all members of the Teaching and Learning Academy grade and school level teams.
  • Support the Lead Teacher and the educator team in parent communications and concerns.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in delivering effective instruction by providing assistance with lesson planning, instructional delivery, and assessment.
  • Model, coach, and provide constructive feedback to Instructional Facilitators and Instructional Assistants to enhance their professional growth and instructional practices.
  • Deliver direct instruction to students, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies and differentiation techniques to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, while adhering to curriculum standards and educational best practices
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Willingness to collaborate with members of the Teaching and Learning Academy team to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Capacity to contribute ideas and innovations to improve student learning outcomes and enhance the effectiveness of the educational team.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in instructional practices, including participation in relevant training and workshops.
  • Interest in learning about and implementing best practices in data-driven decision-making and the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process to support student achievement.
  • Education/Certification:Bachelor’s degree in Education
  • 5 years of teaching experience or less preferred
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with endorsement in elementary (K-6)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Working toward or completion of Science of Reading training (or successful completion of equivalent college/university courses)
  • Eligible for “Read Act” designation on CDE license
  • Experience Preferred:Coaching experience and or training
  • Knowledge of the PLC process
  • Knowledge of data driven decision making
  • Experience/training in Inquiry Based Instructional Models
  • Proficiency in the Science of Reading
