Teacher of English

100% – 2-year contract – Starting August 2025

Responsibilities:

• Deliver effective English language and literature teaching across the secondary school.
• Participate in the design, development, implementation, and review of English programs at the lower secondary, IGCSE, and DP levels.
• Collaborate with curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum, including resource selection and management in the classroom.
• Promote the health and safety of assigned classes.
• Engage in professional development and contribute to staff training and meetings.
• Support extracurricular activities, including trips, excursions, and field trips.
• Enhance the reputation of the teaching body.
• Foster positive relations between the English department and the wider community through cooperative initiatives, publications, and competitions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English Language with QTS status or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of proven teaching experience, ideally in an international context.
• Experience teaching English at IB Diploma (or A-Level) and IGCSE levels.
• Native English speaker.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
• Strong organizational skills and proficient in using technology for both teaching and administrative tasks.
• Capable of inspiring mixed-culture and mixed-ability classes by creating engaging and challenging learning opportunities.
• Able to support students with both academic and pastoral needs.
• A clear criminal record and a valid work permit are advantageous.
