This posting is for two (2) unionized contractual appointments. A Teaching Assistant is a McGill Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM).

Position Summary:

This requisition is for two (2) positions, at 90 hours each, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Effective dates of appointment are August 28 to December 11, 2024. Course dates are August 28 to December 4, 2024.

Responsibilities may include:

• Marking
• Preparing Class Materials
• Leading Discussion Groups
• Assisting Students’ learning
• Assisting in the Preparation of Databases for student assessments
• May be required to attend and lead scheduled Lectures (Fridays from 11:35AM to 02:25PM) and/or Labs (Tuesdays from 2:35PM to 5:25PM)

Qualifications:

• Must be a current McGill PhD student
• Must have completed EDPE 676 or equivalent and have background in the subject matter of the course
• Knowledge and Experience of the statistical package SPSS
• Familiarity and experience using statistics in research, particularly correlation and ANOVA
• myCourses experience may be required
• Knowledge in French may be required
