This posting is for one unionized contractual YEARLONG appointment that spans one academic year. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM).

45 hours in Fall 2024 / 50 hours in Winter 2024 (95 total for F24-W25)

Position Summary:

This requisition is for one position, at 95 hours, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Course dates are August 28, 2024 to December 4, 2024 and January 6, 2025 to April 11, 2025. Effective dates of appointment are August 28, 2024 to December 11, 2024 and January 6, 2025 to April 18, 2025.

Responsibilities may include:

• Marking
• Preparing Class Materials
• Leading Discussion Groups
• Assisting Students’ learning
• Attending classes (F24 Practicum: Thursdays from 2:35PM to 5:25PM; Tutorial: Thursdays from 11:35AM to 2:25PM; W25 Practicum: Thursdays from 2:35PM to 5:25PM; Tutorial: Thursdays from 11:35AM to 2:25PM)

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. Student (School/Applied Child Psychology Program)
• Advanced understanding of assessment and testing materials
• Must have successfully completed this course EDSP 705D1/D2 or equivalent
• Knowledge of French may be required
