Position Summary:

Teaching Assistants will assist 1st year dental students in prosection-based anatomy labs (4hrs). Teaching Assistants must demonstrate an excellent ability to teach human anatomy in the anatomy lab and and effectively guide students in learning the abdominal region using prosections. Teaching Assistants are responsible for reinforcing the laboratory rules and code of conduct in the lab, to oversee all safety precautions in the anatomy lab as well as proper use of specimen preservative solutions and ensuring proper set-up and clean-up in the lab. Teaching Assistants will also participate in the supervision and facilitation of anatomy review time (2 hours) as well as the preparation (2hrs), invigilation and grading (1 hrs) of the anatomy lab exam.

Availability is required on the following dates and times:

February 5th (Wednesday): 12:30 – 2:30 pm

February 11th (Tuesday): 12:30 – 2:30 pm

February 19th (Wednesday): 1:00 – 3:00 pm

February 27th (Thursday): Exam setup, time TBD

February 28th (Friday): Invigilation, time TBD

Qualifications:

Must have previous laboratory experience in human anatomy on topics relevant to the course description. Strong knowledge of abdominal anatomy, experience with prosections of the abdominal region and good communication skills are essential.

Effective communication skills in English are essential. Communication in French is an asset.
