TA positions only available to McGill registered graduate students

You must be a student registered at McGill University in an MA or PhD degree program in the Winter 2025 term.

Hiring Unit:

Department of Linguistics

Position Summary:

Prepare and teach conferences with small groups of students, attend TA meetings, grade assignments, midterms and final exams, hold office hours. Other tasks associated with the position/course.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be graduate students in good standing in the Department of Linguistics at McGill University. Applicants require a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the first-level core courses in Linguistics (Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax and Semantics).

Positions – Course Title and Course Number:

LING 201 Introduction to Linguistics- 5 positions at 120 hours/each

LING 210 Introduction to Speech Science – 1 position at 120 hours

LING 211 Intro to Indigenous Languages – 1 position at 120 hours

LING 260 Meaning in Language – 1 position at 120 hours

LING 330 Phonetics – 1 position at 120 hours

LING 345 From Natural Language to Data Science – 1 position at 120 hours

LING 355 Language Acquisition 1 – 1 position at 120 hours

LING 371 Syntax 1 – 1 position at 120 hours

  • Hours are dependent on course enrolment

Hourly Salary: $36.25

Position Start Date: January 3, 2025

Position End Date: May 10, 2025
