About This Role:
The successful candidate will teach courses in the water resources and environmental areas, and other department services courses as needed. Will direct and oversee duties of graduate teaching assistants and laboratory sections in the water resources and environmental areas, maintain and upgrade laboratory curriculum, support recruitment events in the College of Engineering (COE) (senior, scholarship, and transfer days), advise civil engineering students, and serve on departmental and COE committees.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering or related fields
- Ability to effectively engage students outside class such as during advising sessions or as a faculty advisor to student competition teams or organizations
- Prior experience with classroom instruction
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience teaching water and/or environmental courses at the university level
- Research experience in one or more of the following areas: physical and chemical transport processes in environmental interfaces, specifically groundwater; groundwater management technologies and aquifer monitoring and recharge strategies as applicable to the dwindling Ogallala aquifer; watershed and groundwater modeling expertise to develop climate adaptive strategies for water management (this may overlap with BAE); water distribution infrastructure; remediation of emerging contaminants (PFAS, microplastics, PPCPs) and its monitoring could be an added strength
