POSITION: The School of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Aviation (SEFLA) in the College of Education and Human Sciences at Oklahoma State University is seeking a 9-month Teaching Assistant Professor in Educational Psychology (EPSY) to begin in August 2025. The Teaching Assistant Professor position is a three-year, renewable, career-track position eligible for reappointment and promotion. We expect the individual filling this position to focus on teaching courses and overall advising within the M.S. degree option. This position is assigned to the Stillwater campus; however, EPSY faculty also teach online and occasionally on the Tulsa campus. We welcome both experienced colleagues and new graduates to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses appropriate to the candidate’s expertise and the program’s needs (typical teaching load is 9 credit hours/semester);
Advising and supervising Master’s-level students; helping to expand and develop the Master’s program; and serving the school, college, university, and profession.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned doctorate in Educational Psychology, Learning Sciences, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field;
Demonstrate strong potential for excellence in teaching and advising with a commitment to recruiting students from a variety of backgrounds to expand the Master’s program;
Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but they must have their doctoral degree conferred prior to starting in August 2025.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The area of scholarly interest is open. Excellence in online teaching or prior K-12 experience will be highly valued, as will diverse skill sets/competencies and creative pedagogical approaches. Additionally, we are seeking candidates with the potential for increased collaboration with other programs in the college as it relates to teaching or recruitment/service efforts, with leadership experience, and who will contribute to a culture of inclusive excellence. We are especially interested in candidates who demonstrate a commitment to OSU’s land-grant mission and are interested in empirically-based solutions for reducing educational disparities of historically marginalized students within Oklahoma and beyond.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Educational Psychology program offers a Ph.D. and M.S. degree in Educational Psychology, along with certificates in Learning & Motivation at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We emphasize the application of psychological theories of human development, learning, cognition, and motivation to applied educational contexts and services for children, youth, and adults. Applicants applying these theories and educational contexts to diverse, sociocultural realities will be looked upon favorably. As a small program, our faculty work together closely and have opportunities to serve in various leadership roles.
