Summary of Job Duties:

The duties and responsibilities of this 9-month non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor of Adult and Lifelong Learning position include teaching graduate courses in adult and lifelong learning; Performing program administrative duties for the master’s and doctoral program; advising graduate students and serving on advisory and dissertation committees; engaging in service activities at the program, department, college, university levels, and in professional/scholarly organizations. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 

• An earned doctorate from a nationally recognized and accredited institution in adult and lifelong learning, or closely related field conferred by the start of employment
• Ability to teach graduate courses related to adult and lifelong learning
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and collegiality

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate teaching experience
• Online teaching and/or learning experience
• Professional experience and/or knowledge in one or more of the following areas/Experience or interest in research in the field of:
• Adult literacy and basic education
• Workforce development
• Community college leadership
• Continuing professional development
• Informal and nonformal learning
• Adult and lifelong learning policy
• Adult development
