Summary of Job Duties:

The Teaching Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Health is a 9-month, full-time non-tenure faculty position. The Teaching Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Health will teach undergraduate and online graduate courses (typical load is four 3-credit hour courses each semester); mentor undergraduate and graduate students as needed; and provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field conferred by the start of employment
  • Evidence or promise of effective teaching
  • Evidence or potential of service to the department, college, university, community, and profession

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching courses at the university level (graduate and undergraduate courses)
  • Evidence of effective student mentoring/advising
  • Experience or interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning
  • Experience teaching online
