Summary of Job Duties:

The 9-month Teaching Assistant Professor of Recreation and Sport Management will teach undergraduate and graduate courses (typical load is four 3-credit hour courses each semester); mentor undergraduate and graduate students as needed; serve on master thesis and dissertation committees, and provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in Recreation and Sport Management or related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by start of employment
• Evidence or promise of highly effective teaching
• Evidence or potential of service to the department, institution, and profession

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in field of Recreation and Sport Management or related field
• Experience of teaching courses at the university level
• Evidence of effective student mentoring/advising
• Experience or interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning
• Experience teaching at the graduate level
• Experience teaching legal aspects of recreation and/or sport
