Teaching Assistant SEND Support 

Grade 3 – 15 hours per week (8.45am – 12noon with 15 mins break)

With the possibility of afternoon ad-hoc relief hours.

Term Time Only + 2 INSETS

Actual Salary £8610

Initially offered as a Fixed Term Contract to start Easter 25 until July 26

but with the very high possibility of continuing, subject to SEN funding.

Tankersley St Peter’s C.E.(Aided) Primary School is a friendly school with a highly motivated, committed and supportive team. We are a good school, with excellent provision across school and have motivated, well behaved and caring pupils.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team here at Tankersley. Ideally you will have experience of working with SEND pupils on a 1:1 and a strong background in phonics and reading support. 

The role could involve working across all Key Stages, supporting the learning of pupils with special needs either individually, in class or in small groups.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • has experience of supporting pupils with reading/Maths
  • is passionate about helping children learn to read
  • has experience of supporting pupils with SEND
  • holds a minimum of a Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent Teaching Qualification
  • has GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • has knowledge of Read Write Inc phonics and spelling (not essential as training will be given)
  • will work closely with colleagues as part of a friendly and supportive team.
