Food Science & Agricultural Chemistry – Teaching Assistantships – Winter 2025

These postings are directed to graduate students who will be registered at McGill University in the winter 2025 semester. Applications from others will not be considered.

Winter 2025 Application Period: Oct 21 – November 4

Job start and end dates: January 6, 2025 to April 30, 2025

All students should apply as external candidates regardless of current employment status at McGill. You must be a McGill graduate student to be eligible to apply and must be eligible to work in Canada.

Please note that Teaching Assistants will be required on campus to perform their tasks in person. Should anything prohibit in-person teaching activities, courses will revert to remote teaching. In the event of such a change, Teaching Assistants will be advised as soon as possible. Teaching Assistants may be required to perform tasks suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom, WebEx] and the McGill myCourses learning management system.

McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.

Total Hours of Work per Term: Varies by course/ranges from 45 to 125 hours

Position Summary: A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed as a unionized contractual appointment to assist the Course Supervisor in a classroom environment.

Qualifications: May be required to perform tasks suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform (e.g., Zoom, WebEx) and the McGill myCourses learning management system.
