Applications are welcome for a Teaching Associate in Social Statistics. You will deliver tutorials and computer labs at undergraduate and postgraduate modules, inclusive of marking assessed work and providing feedback to students, where applicable. This will include undergraduate modules in Social Statistics/Data Analytics pathway, on our Master’s programme in Social Research Methods & Statistics, as well as contribute to the development of the new Master’s in Data Analytics and Social Statistics by distance learning. The modules will include topics related to social statistics, survey analysis, longitudinal data analysis, demography and social research methods. We use R in most of our tutorials and computer labs. There will also be opportunities to deliver guest lectures and supervise dissertations in the Social Statistics department.
This role is intended to provide a level of teaching experience which will you to be better equipped in securing further and more advanced teaching roles and the aim is to offer this opportunity as widely as possible. Therefore, it is not anticipated that you will be reengaged should there be a requirement for a similar role at the conclusion of this contract.
