Job Summary

The Department of Educational Psychology announces an instructional academic staff Teaching Faculty & Program Director position in MPCAC-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. The CMHC Director provides leadership in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program, overseeing overall operations and curriculum delivery. This is a full-time (12 month) renewable appointment to begin January 2025 (flexible) with the requirement of regular on-campus presence. The successful candidate will (1) serve as Program Director to the CMHC program, (2) teach master’s level counseling courses, (3) serve as a core faculty member and attend department and program-related functions (e.g., program faculty meetings).

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee curriculum and program quality assurance, instructional delivery, admissions, recruitment and retention, and student experience.
  2. Program administration responsibilities including but not limited to: advising the Chair on appropriate staffing for the courses of the program and supervising adjunct faculty assigned to the program; working with the practicum coordinator to facilitate practicum placements for students; assisting with adjunct faculty hiring; in conjunction with program faculty, developing and maintaining cooperative and collaborative relationships, activities and communication with other programs within the College
  3. Maintain MPCAC accreditation and ensure the program is consistent with standards set by the accreditation bodies and WI licensure standards, including effective record keeping and reporting
  4. Oversee CMHC student advising, mentoring, retention, and remediation efforts
  5. Collaborate with university department for admissions efforts, registration process, and support of students
  6. Regular teaching faculty responsibilities including teaching courses within the counseling area and attending faculty meetings
  7. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • A master’s (or higher) in counseling or a related field
  • License eligible at least at the master’s level in counseling or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology or a related field
  • Prior experience with administration of graduate level programs
  • Experience in graduate level teaching and clinical supervision
  • Familiarity with MPCAC accreditation standards
