nearmejobs.eu

The University of Manchester Library is one of only five National Research Libraries and the third largest academic library in the UK. Our vast and rich collections (both print and digital) help us to deliver a world class library and information service for the University of Manchester. We sit at the heart of the University experience for both learning and research and are fully committed to widening access to our expertise, collections and services to individual researchers, local schools, and others in the community.

A key role of the Library is supporting students and staff at Manchester and in the wider community to access, analyse and explore its collections, resources and expertise. The Teaching, Learning and Students (TLS) team leads the way on Library teaching activity and student support and is the home of the My Learning Essentials, My Research Essentials, Specialist Library Services and widening access and outreach programmes. The TLS Team works alongside other library teams and the wider university community.

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Learning and Students Coordinator to work within the TLS team. This post focuses on teaching and student support, with an emphasis on academic and information literacy skills. The role also requires the ability to prioritise tasks and information, and communicate effectively, working collaboratively with colleagues and students. For example, acting as a link between library and wider university teaching staff. Other duties will include administrational programme management activities, coordination of campaigns at key points of the academic year, participation in the quality assurance processes of the team’s training materials, as well as supporting the work of the award-winning Library Student Team in the delivery of services and support. Whilst in the post the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to take part in professional development activities, such as the HEA fellowship and other applicable programmes.

Any successful applicant for the posts will be expected to evidence and demonstrate their ability to teach, develop teaching materials, carry out administrative and organisational activities and work as part of a collective and collaborative culture, using our inclusive and accessible guidance and teaching and learning principles. A summary version of our inclusive guidance can be found here: https://www.escholar.manchester.ac.uk/learning-objects/recruitment-2022/For%20recruitment%20202206%20-%20QA%20intro.docx
