Job Summary
The Temporary Communications & Liaison Intern will work to enhance overall communication, impact and abilities of the Akule ndi Thanzi programs. The role involves developing and updating communications products, client engagement and coordinating internal and external communication to create a robust communications ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all communication products for the Akule ndi Thanzi project comply with the USAID branding and marking requirements.
- Develop and promote good news stories through external and internal communications channels.
- Maintain FEED’s style guide and support with development of any new communication templates.
- Manage the print and production process of communication materials when required.
- Facilitate in the development of promotional materials.
- Expand FEED’s social media network and manage all its social media community channels.
- Contribute to both the print and electronic media through stories that highlight the organization’s impact in transforming children’s health and wellbeing.
- Generate and disseminate interactive content on social media channels and online communities,
- Provide the opportunity to share, collaborate, and amplify public relations materials through partners’ channels.
- Provide reporting support for Monthly and Quarterly Program Reports.
- Update and maintain the various communications products used by FEED such as programs relationship map, services brochure, branding guidance etc.
- Participate in cross-functional groups such as the Staff Forum, contributing as a content expert on internal communication matters.
- Support the line supervisor in planning and implementation of various activities
- In liaison with Akule ndi Thanzi partners, collect and package impact stories in the quarter the intern will be engaged.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism or any related field.
- Excellent understanding of and in-depth experience in development communication.
- Computer skills (Canva, MS Office applications, databases, online collaboration platforms).
- Ability to write, edit and/or review materials in English and other local languages.
- Good public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong photography skills with emphasis on capturing action photos.
- Ability to multi-task and deliver assigned tasks on strict deadlines.
