Job Title: Title III Parent ESL Class Instructor Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

up to 12 hrs. wkly

Primary Purpose:
To provide parents of emergent bilingual/immigrant students with English instruction so they can effectively communicate with their student’s school staff and support their student’s education
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Education Degree
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with speakers of other languages preferred
- Major Responsibilities and Duties:Prepare and deliver English acquisition lessons for adult learners who speak other languages
- Work with individual learners or small groups during instructional time
- Assess the learner’s progress
- Uphold and enforce district rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy
Working Conditions:
- Mental Demands:Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office and instructional equipment including personal computer and Peripherals
- Posture:Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, and use of a mouse, occasional reaching
- Lifting:Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
- Environment: Classroom setting

I agree to perform these major responsibilities and duties and understand that this position is for the 2024-2025 school year and is funded with Title III funds. This position is reviewed annually based on available funding.
