The Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Arts and Science is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in Social Psychology or a related field such as Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the Assistant Professor level commencing 1 July 2025.

The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in psychology or be near completion. We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in Social or a related field such as Industrial-Organizational Psychology, who can contribute to the academic and professional development of students. Candidates should have expertise in areas such as attitude and behaviour change, motivation, conflict and negotiation, interpersonal relationships, leadership, and group dynamics, and have expertise in quantitative research methods used in their field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to mentorship and have experience guiding students in both research and applied settings, helping them develop critical thinking and professional skills. The successful candidate will also be expected to actively engage in research, contribute to the department’s goals, and participate in departmental and university initiatives. Experience teaching and/or supervising undergraduate and/or students is an asset. Documented experience in online course development and curriculum development is an asset.

Workload for the position includes teaching and academic advising, scholarly and/or professional activity and internal and external collegial service. The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and maintain an independently funded research program. Teaching duties will be within the Department of Psychology and will be determined on an annual basis.

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Agreement with the Mount Saint Vincent University Faculty Association. This position will remain open until filled and is subject to final budgetary approval.
