The Stories We Weave – Project Photographer

Through collaborative textile and oral history sessions, the project will use NUH uniform swatches and simple handsewing techniques to preserve and present the lived experiences and visual identity of staff across NUH’s 20year history.

We are seeking a photographer to document selected workshop sessions and capture high-quality images of the creative process, participants, materials, and final artworks. The photography will help tell the story of the project for evaluation, exhibition, archive, heritage, and promotional purposes, including use within the National Lottery Heritage Fund evaluation and future NUH and Nottingham Hospitals Charity communications.

The photographer will attend a selection of sessions at each site to sensitively capture the atmosphere of the workshops, interactions between participants, and the development of the artworks. Final edited images will contribute to preserving the legacy of the project and celebrating the experiences and identities of staff across NUH.

Work will take place at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham City Hospital, National Rehabilitation Centre and Ropewalk House. The role requires the ability to travel to and work across all NUH sites.
