Organic solar cells offer a lightweight, flexible, and low-cost alternative to traditional solar technologies. These devices typically rely on blends of conjugated donor polymers and small-molecule acceptors, which form a phase-separated nanostructure essential for efficient charge separation. However, this nanomorphology is often unstable, leading to phase segregation and performance decline. Understanding the glass transition temperature (Tg) of these materials is crucial [1], as it directly influences the molecular mobility and phase stability of the blend. This project explores how surfaces and interfaces impact phase behavior and how manipulating Tg (via choice of material) can help stabilise the nanostructure for enhanced performance and longevity.
