Three-Dimensional Microfluidics for High Throughput Reactions and Bioassays

University of Birmingham

nearmejobs.eu

High-throughput reactions and bioassays allow cost-effective testing of large libraries of bio/chemical molecules for drug discovery, disease diagnosis, and industrial biotechnology. High-throughput studies are currently performed using microtitre plates [1] and droplet microfluidics [2], both of which are two-dimensional.

This project will develop three-dimensional microfluidics using sound waves to perform reactions and bioassays with high throughput. A combination of experiments and finite element modelling will be used in this project. The student will be based in the Gupta group (https://rguptagrouplab.com/) in University of Birmingham.

No scholarships are available for this project. Interested self-funded candidates may contact Dr Gupta () for an informal discussion.
