Call for Trustees to join our charity’s Board.
The Board of 12 trustees is responsible for running the charity in collaboration with the Theatre Manager and her team. It meets 6-8 times a year with email contact when needed in between.
We are seeking 3 new Trustees from a broad range of backgrounds, but are particularly interested to add the following experience and skills to the Board:
Legal / Insurance expertise
HR
Building and construction
The Board is hard-working and very supportive of each other.
As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, the Lancaster Grand Theatre is an iconic and vibrant 460 seat performing arts venue within the historic city of Lancaster. Alongside its own embedded ‘Footlights’ amateur society, the theatre also plays host to a diverse range of professional and amateur performances, which helps to form both a balanced fundraising model and a diverse artistic offering. We have professional staff working in the theatre and a large group of exceptional volunteers all working together to ensure the smooth running of our cultural gem of a building.
With great links to cultural venues across the Lancaster and District region, we are a cornerstone of artistic and cultural excellence for our communities and beyond. With a Grade 2 listed building and a thriving range of professional and amateur productions we have a very forward thinking Board taking the theatre towards its 250th Anniversary in 2032.
