How can you make a difference?

Purpose of the job:

Under the guidance of the supervisor, provide professional technical assistance and support for programme design, planning and implementation, management and evaluation of programme/project activities, analysis and progress reporting, in support of programme goals and objectives. The role will also develop and strengthen community centred, equity-based approaches to Education.

UNICEF is a leading agency in the Rohingya response for education. The education section of UNICEF Cox’s Bazar Field Office (FO) manages the utilization of funds from multiple donors and works with competitively selected implementing partners reaching 70 per cent of all children enrolled in Education in the camps.

This position will support system planning and strengthening during a time of change. The individual must have strong analysis and communication skills to identify and communicate trends and be able to effect evidence informed change through working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders. The role will involve regular travel to the camps.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

Education:

• A university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, social science, public administration, business administration, development planning or statistics.
• Certification in logistics and supply chain management or in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning is strongly preferred.

Work Experience:

• A minimum of one year of professional experience in education programme support, AND in at least two other areas from: supplies, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning, community education and engagement, communication about data and data analysis or finance.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated skills in working in partnership and with partners
• Proficiency with Power BI and Excel tools
• Experience of capacity development
• Familiarity with community education responses and working directly with communities
• Team player competencies with a positive mindset

Language Requirements:

• Fluency in English and Bangla is required.
• Knowledge of Chittagonian Dialect is advantageous.

Desirables:

• Experience working in Education (must)and in the the Rohingya response is considered as an asset.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
• Knowledge and use of HACT is an advantage.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
