Overview of position

Provide support to Logistics operation and activities, following standard processes and ensuring that all data is correctly captured analysed and tabulated in required reports.

Role objectives

Under the supervision of the Fleet Senior Logistics Associate & Fleet manager and in co- ordination with FMS staff, the incumbent shall perform the following duties:
Provide support to Logistics operation and activities, following standard processes and facilitating, directly or indirectly, the effective of food assistance to beneficiaries.
Support management of Logistics Fleet vendors’ contracting activities including performance monitoring and measurement.
Assist in monitoring inventory management processes to track trends and account for the inventory status from source to Fleet Monitoring System.
Support operational pipeline analyse, assessments and operation planning for all delivery modalities.
Ensure that any information/data or reports requested are promptly carried out and expedited in an efficient manner.
Perform software checking routines established and ensure that all the data downloaded into the system is accurate and take the necessary steps to resolve any irregularities.
Responsible to ensure that all data produced in the system is accurate and always sent and received on a timely basis and to report any irregularities to immediate Supervisor.
Consolidate all findings and to convert these conclusions reached into useful formats which can be interpreted by management for appropriate action and decision making.
Constantly collect and collate useful data which can be used to improve the re- established and communicate this information to immediate supervisor.
Will perform daily reconciliation exercises of all records and transactions performed within the same day and ensure that data validation, integrity and accuracy of data are maintained.
Share experiences gained with other staff members and strive towards creating good team building and harmonious atmosphere.
Will perform any other duties as requested by immediate supervisor.

Project reporting

This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to travel to remote locations as required.

Good working knowledge and experience working with Microsoft MS Office Suite.

Proficient in the use of a computerised Fleet Management System (FMS).

Completed high school with Mathematics and English as main subject.

Diploma in Computer Science/Statistics or equivalent.

At least 3 years of experience in transport operations, preferably in a humanitarian context.

Hold the position of Data analyst, or similar job in a company/NGO with at least 3 years’ experience gained in the relevant field.

Fluent in English

Team management

This role has no team management responsibility.
