The Position

We are looking for a senior Business Partner, Roche Pharma China supporting the General Manager and CNET, as well as with potential for taking on the responsibility as P&C Country Connector for Roche China. 

China is our largest business in Pharma International and second internationally only to the US at Roche. As Head Business Partner for Roche Pharma China, you are a member of the Pharma China Network Enabling Team and Pharma International P&C Leadership Team. You are responsible for setting direction and enabling action for impactful outcomes to reach out 10 year ambitions for our broader business in China and PI. You will also act as legal representative for Pharma China legal entities in the related employee council or legal processes.

As a senior business leader, you form trusted relationships with the General Manager and other key business leaders; and are an experienced coach to them and you help to shape business strategy with a long term view on business needs and strategic, patient-centric business priorities. You translate key business priorities into long term, group-wide People & Culture needs and are part of diagnosing, prioritizing, initiating and sponsoring P&C strategies to address these P&C needs across divisions, business functions and chapters in P&C (across networks, hubs and Area of Practices). You work with all other Business Partners and the whole P&C eco system on translating the overall P&C strategies and implementing them fit for purpose in their key leadership areas. To the key leadership areas you are accountable as a trusted strategic partner and coach for fostering VACC leadership, advancing organizational design and effectiveness, for building a diverse and inclusive work culture and securing future talent and capabilities. As the Country connector work with senior leaders/ Site Heads across and relevant One Roche Forums to identify people related topics where One Roche synergy exists and/or position is needed; you collaborate with the senior partners to set direction and enable action across these critical identified areas so that we have a consistent approach and position on critical topics covering One Roche. As a member of the Pharma International P&C leadership team, you are accountable for holding the enterprise perspective in addition to local and will lead in pull through of PI level people outcome efforts. 

Desired Qualifications, Mindset & Experience 

• Excellent business acumen and a strong focus on the future of work, which includes the ability and experience in effectively diagnosing long term P&C needs out of the business needs, and shaping and leading large scale country wide, regional and/or global initiatives to address them 
• Role model VACC leadership, with proven ability to lead with a creative mindset, very high self-awareness and for acting as a coach and mentor for other leaders and professionals 
• Demonstrated strong collaboration ability, co-creation and sharing across the system including the ability to leverage digital tools for this cause
• Enterprise mindset and system thinking, proven ability to work effectively across multiple business areas, teams and key leadership areas in a fast paced VUCA environment 
• Driven and shaped People & Culture across large and diverse parts of our business areas and/or business areas in Roche and/or previous companies 
• Ability to navigate the P&C system, leverage different Chapters for business impact and create networks to deliver on business and P&C strategies 
• Ability to translate the global P&C concepts and practices through a locally adapted approach by deeply understanding the essence of the concepts and local context
• Ability to influence senior leaders across Pharma China and One Roche with courageous authenticity and build trust to lead on critical organizational wide topics. 
• China understanding and experience is must to have.
• Excellent situational assessment and objective evaluation skills, with an ability to comprehend and translate complex topics into manageable pieces, to then position the topics with strong communication and group facilitation capabilities 
• Chinese speaking is a must, with fluency in English
