Main purpose of job:
- To carry out effective day to day maintenance work – Any repair work, change the locks, change the nets, shuttering of lintels
- To complete carpentry projects related to workshop machine works, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, new installation and construction works – uplift houses, removing existing doors/windows, installation of aluminium windows, doors, locks, and shuttering where needed
- Be available when there is change of occupancy – keep a check on all doors, wardrobes, aluminium windows, mesh, locks, kitchen cabinets etc.

Roles and responsibilities that a jobholder will be expected to achieve:
- Carpentry works – carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and day-to-day maintenance (DDM) in all office, residential buildings and off compound houses as required.
- Carrying out all carpentry works on workshop machines and bend saw.
- Be compliant with FDCO regulations and Health & Safety standards.
- Working on agreed schedules and timescales. Able to work overtime as and when required.
- Carry out any other maintenance or administrative tasks required in support of the maintenance or projects teams.

Essential on arrival:
- At least 3 years’ experience in carpentry work, workshop machinery and operating bend saw
- Have driving skills with valid Motor car Driving licence.
- Certificate in carpentry from any recognised institutions
- Minimum level of education required (completed / passed) – 10th class / High Secondary Certification (HSC)

For BHC candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates the basic salary will be PKR 92,809 per month. This salary is non-negotiable.
Please note that the current salaries are being dollarized and processed in USD (using a fixed corporate exchange rate from November 2022) to provide cushion against the current external market conditions. This is a temporary measure and is subject to review at regular intervals. The payroll will revert to local currency processing once the external market conditions are normalised.
BHC offers a great benefits package that comprises of Annual Domiciliary cover and Medical Insurance Scheme which includes PKR 1,500,000 floater coverage per family for self, one spouse/long term partner and children under the age of 19 or under 23, if in full-time education and not gainfully employed. The Annual Domiciliary cover for day-to-day medical payments is upto PKR 200,000 per family (basis actual bills submission).
Additionally, The British High Commission contributes to a retirement provision in the form of a mandatory provident fund.
