An overview:
The British Embassy in Tashkent is part of a world-wide network representing British values along with mutual political and economical benefits overseas and is now looking for a Corporate Services Assistant.
You, our successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day admin work of the Corporate Services team and will work closely with Corporate Services Officer. You will support and manage the procurement requests of services and goods received by the Corporate Services team. You will maintain and manage float, welcome packs, stationery, inventory of office and furniture. Yo will accompany diplomats when needed for local registration procedures.
You will act as a bridge between staff assigned to the British Embassy from the UK along with their family members and the Embassy’s Corporate Services team.
The role entails:
Procurement:
- Support and purchase office and other supplies, equipment, and services.
- Monitoring utilities and facilitate bank payments.
- Purchase of supplies and equipment for the maintenance team.
- Collecting receipts and submitting for tax refund to the local authorities.
Inventory Management:
- Assist CSO in maintaining inventory of float and furniture.
- Assist CSO in maintaining welcome packs.
Other broader duties:
- Become a part of the CLO network.
- Accompany diplomats when needed for local registration procedures.
- Liaise with the Estates manager about new family housing needs.
- Complete walk in and walk out checks of accommodations with Estates Manager.
- Provide groceries for the first 24 hours upon diplomats arrival.
- Welcoming all staff accompanying families to ensure as smooth integration as possible into the life of the Post community.
- Providing community induction for diplomats ( shops, clinics, nurseries, schools etc.).
- Organising monthly social gatherings with diplomats and their accompanying families.
- Any other reasonable duties as required to support the CS team.

Our ideal candidate has:
- Proficiency in English (Minimum of level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference(CEFR) for Languages*);
- Proficiency in Russian (Minimum of level B2 according to the CEFR for Languages*);
- Previous relevant background and minimum one (1) year of experience (Human resources/ Estates/ Procurement/ Corporate Services/ Admin Tasks/in Diplomatic field/as Liaison Officer) .
- Ability to handle procurement processes.
- Good IT skills.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to prioritise.

Good to have:
- Experience of working with an international institution/organisations;
- Proficiency in Uzbek (Minimum of level A2 according to the CEFR for Languages*).

This is a full-time, permanent contract (40 hours per week).
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background checks and security clearance.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Uzbekistan are subject to the terms and conditions of service according to local Uzbek employment law. All applicants interested in this job opportunity should have the legal right to live and work in Uzbekistan.

Working patterns: Flexibility to work at home based on prior agreement with the Line Manager.
